What to expect at the FREE consultation?

The confidential consultation is designed for you to meet Laura in person, see the treatment room, and be given a thorough understanding about electrolysis. A health history form will need to be completed, and you will have a chance to ask questions as well. This will provide you with the knowledge to decide whether you would like to proceed with treatment.

Please bring a list of all medications and reason for taking them to the consultation.

What is electrolysis?

Electrology is the science of permanent hair removal. The electrolysis modality was the first method used to remove hair permanently back in 1875. The term "electrolysis" branded the process of permanent hair removal.

Using state-of-the-art technology, an electrologist inserts a very fine probe pain-free into the ostium, the natural opening of the hair follicle, alongside the hair shaft (keep in mind how tiny hairs are). A minute amount of current is then gently applied to the base of the hair follicle destroying the hair growth cells. Therefore, the regenerative ability of the hair follicle is permanently eliminated.

Electrolysis is the ONLY FDA and AMA approved permanent hair removal method which works on ALL skin tones and ALL hair colors.

What is the difference between electrolysis and laser?  Aren't they the same thing?

No, electrolysis and laser are not the same thing.

Laser is light-based hair removal that targets pigmented hair which means that blonde, gray, white, red, or lightly pigmented hair will not be successfully treated.  Hair pigment also must be darker than the surrounding skin pigment.  Hair must be thick since thinner hairs will not allow sufficient heat to be transferred to the follicle to cause sufficient damage.  Laser is deemed hair reduction and not permanent hair removal.

Electrolysis uses current via a sterile probe to remove unwanted hair.  All skin tones and all hair colors can be treated with electrolysis.  Thick or thin hair alike can be eliminated.  Electrolysis is the ONLY FDA and AMA approved hair removal system that is permanent.

Am I suitable for electrolysis?

Do you have unwanted hair on your body and are seeking a permanent solution? Then, YES, electrolysis is right for you. Unwanted hair can cause distress and embarrassment. Unfortunately, we are unable to service those with the following contraindications to electrolysis:

* Undergoing cancer treatment - radiotherapy/chemotherapy
* Cochlear implant
* Deep brain stimulator
* Defibrillator
* Viral Hepatitis 
* Pacemaker
* Pre-puberty/In puberty 
* Pregnancy

NOTE: Minors can receive treatment post puberty.  Females need to have completed one full year of their cycle in order to be a client.  All clients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all appointments.

Is electrolysis really permanent?

What areas of the body can be treated?

Hair can be removed from almost any part of the body. Common areas for women are facial areas on eyebrows, hairline, upper lip, chin, cheeks, sideburns, and neck. Other areas are the breasts, abdomen, bikini line, buttocks, underarms, arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet, and toes. Common areas for men are hairline, beard line, back, shoulders, chest, ears, and center of eyebrows. Anywhere you have unwanted hair let us help you permanently remove it!

Note: Electrologists do not treat inside the ear canal or inside the nose.

How many treatments will be required?

Electrolysis requires a series of treatments as the results are progressive. This means it works session by session because of the cyclical nature of hair growth.  Furthermore, the number of sessions varies per client due to different factors such as, the size of the area being treated, the part of the body being treated, previous hair removal methods, the density of the hair being removed, the growth stage of the hair, the client's skin sensitivity/tolerance, and the client's availability. We will happily discuss your particular situation during your free, confidential consultation.

What equipment is used?

The Apilus Senior 3G 13.56 MHz epilator that we use is manufactured in Canada and known for being a trusted international leader of electrology equipment. A wide range of settings available allows treatments to be carried out with precision and a high level of accuracy while maximizing the comfort of the client.

What is the cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Clients can cancel or reschedule their appointments without penalty by providing a minimum of 24 hours-notice prior to your appointment by calling/texting Laura at 937-847-1912 .

If less than 24 hours-notice is given, a fee will be charged to the credit card on file as follows: $25 for 15 and 30-minute appointments and $35 for 45 and 60-minute appointments.

Missed appointments, also referred to as a "no-call, no-show," occurs when a client fails to cancel or reschedule their appointment. Missed appointments will result in a charge equal to 100% of the scheduled service price.
